Masterclass at the Theatre Royal Haymarket are looking for a young aspiring director who would relish the opportunity to work with Director Sean Mathias on Breakfast at Tiffany’s starring Anna Friel and Joseph Cross.
Set in New York in 1943, a young writer from Louisiana, William ‘Fred’ Parsons meets Miss Holly Golightly, a charming, vivacious and utterly elusive good-time girl. Everyone falls in love with Holly, including William - but he is poor, and Holly needs rich. Will she marry Rusty, playboy millionaire? Or José, the future president of Brazil? As war rages in Europe, Holly begins to fall in love with William - and then her past catches up with her…..
This post is open to someone seeking a career as a director. The postholder will assist the Director and Assistant Director, with as much contact time as possible.
Tasks and responsibilities will include:
Undertaking dramaturgical research for purposes of the rehearsal room
Writing rehearsal reports
Keeping communications open between the production, the producers, the venue and Masterclass
Supporting the AD in company maintenance rehearsals
Acquiring refreshments and supporting the rehearsal room team
The postholder will gain experience of:
Working on a large-scale production for a West End venue.
Producing and directing two lunchtime showcases at Theatre Royal Haymarket, in collaboration with the design apprentice and the technical apprentice
